This is an ingenious ploy to make us all hungry so mission accomplished! I am interested to know if there are any good stories about that pocket knife.
Do you get souvenirs when you travel and if so what’s your favorite souvenir? Madison, WI
As an aside, the best meal of my life was at St John in London and I think you’d appreciate the snout to tail philosophy and meat centric menu of its chef Fergus Henderson.
I am going to ST John in December and beyond excited I don’t actually live that far from London but Covid has really got in the way! Huge fan of Fergus and a huge fan of Black Axe Mangal’s Lee who used to be at ST John! Hope you enjoyed London! Really wanna come to Madison soon!
I just listened to your July 1 post on finding the best scotch egg. And if I'm not mistaken, I heard you say something about underneath or nearby the London Bridge. You do realize it's in Arizona? Maybe we were thinking of the Tower Bridge?
Freeloaders, are to a large extent maintaining the status of many thespians ( in the sense of actors) and are there becay, at some point, were amused, or read a book or watched a series , or listened to some delivered self or third produced lines in a show.
If course, there's a core fan following that will agree with whatever musing. And there are some benefits in crowdsourcing hedonistic questions to the freeloading community. That , funny enough, are not under the a paywall. Freeloaders are useful. As We understand that "daddy needs various grit papers" and favours and appreciates the good things in life. Who wouldn't. But , said daddy, like the anger management wold and pretend PhD-ed in Calm should also realize that the freeloaders did pay to inflate the influence and success that allows a certain life choice.
I would debate that for the scarce entertainment, 100 $ a year can bring some nice knowledgeable books/ year. With pictures. Even on woodworking or life meditation and musings.
But , thank you for being frank from the beginning. I was freeloading and I was put to shame. Shame on me. Foll me once
My partner and I saw you live in Auckland on 22 June 2019 and we still regularly talk about your amazing performance as well as the fabulous green, nature-themed dress shirt you were wearing at the time (ain't it weird which tiny details engrave themselves in our little minds sometimes?).
I just recently, finally, made the jump into construction project management (my dream field). As a woman in a male-dominated field I have to deal with a lot of "banter", usually at the expense of my fellow vagina-owners ("women! right?! ugh!" *insert eyeroll here*).
Since you have worked in many male-dominated industries yourself, what are your two cents on men acting like gatekeeping douche-canoes? What can be done to encourage more women not only entering but thriving in these otherwise wonderful fields?
There's nothing cooler to me than being able to point at a building and saying "I was part of that! I did that! See that thing? I chose that!". I wish more women could experience that feeling, too.
P.S.: Sorry for not being a paid subscriber yet. I may be working in a profitable field, but even with a recent promotion, I am kept at the usual lower-than-my-male-peers salary. I'll subscribe as soon as I get paid, let's say, 75% of my current male subordinates.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I live in pasty heaven (many say).... and am currently writing the Cornish Pasty history for an educational panel for the Lake Antoine Park Partners project to be for CAMPGROUND and park visitors to see. And if ya wanna pasty.... this place mails alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll over the planet..... https://dobberspasties.com/contact-us/
If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend a visit to the Dutch Market in Annapolis MD. It's been a few years, but I still remember their pretzel log as one of the best things I've ever ate. I can only describe it as "Holy F&#$%". It might have to do with the amount of butter and salt...
A question, You seem like a person who takes quite a bit of pride in being prepared for whatever may come. Would you mind sharing for everyday carry? Maybe what you keep in your car or go-bag if you have such a thing. Maybe your favorite multitool?
Great morning read! Finding the "Best" of any culinary creation or libation is always a worthwhile task, albeit, often expensive and time consuming. The meaty Scotch egg looked delicious. Can not wait for your discovery of a superb Shepherd's Pie.
Is the Victorinox Swiss Army knife with the mountain scene on yours? If so, where did you obtain it. Very classy!

Correction: please change the last sentence to "you" instead of "me."

Hello Nick! How are you?
My friend Dino Stamatopoulos told me to read Lincoln in the Bardo and I heard you loved it. I’d be really happy to talk about it with you!
I would also intercept to add that Nick actually narrated the Audiobook of the book Lincoln in the Bardo.

Great book and great donkey coral narration piece, in my opinion.
(not at all affiliated, just a reader with donkey long commutes)
Have a nice day Pierrick
P.S. this ended up leading to a question, then [from Savoie, France]
Nick, how is narrating / how long does it take / how does it work / do you like it ?
Kia ora from good ol' Aotearoa (New Zealand)!

Hi Nick, those look delicious. I’m sure one exists but I’ve never met a sausage or sausage concoction that I didn’t like.
Hi Nick, What type of microphone are you using for your podcast?
Through my earbuds it sounds very natural and crisp. Have a great 4th, and you get some R&R in if possible.
