The Alpha Apex of Fragrance is Woodshop - the smell of overheated saws biting into heartpine creates the most beautiful aroma, an incense of wood and work.💖

I love and appreciate the way you extol and extend praise , credit and support to the strong, talented, caring women in your life - personal and professional. The world needs such women and it needs men like you. Much gratitude. This isn’t exactly related - but you mentioned Parks&Rec (one of my favorite shows) and I wanted to add my thanks for the fun and engaging ‘Making It’ show you cohost with Amy P. Another example of good clean fun that leaves one rooting for humanity & its inherent goodness.

I absolutely LOVE that you have had WOMEN running your wood shop: "But the real driver has been the incredible women who have run the shop with such leadership, along with the team members that have accompanied and supported them. Together, they deserve all the credit for our continuing heartbeat."

My father-in-law is a woodworker, with his own well-equipped shop (very professional stuff in that big ol' building of his) and my father was a woodworker (though I didn't know him, really) and my step-dad was a woodworker. So, I have a love of wood, and I deeply admire those who work WITH it. I have aspirations to build things from wood...even if it's another convertible kid stool like I made in the 7th grade. (I loved making that thing.)

Thanks for this post! I agree wholeheartedly about the disposable furniture, and the throw-away society we live in. It's disgusting. I would rather buy a USED piece of real-wood furniture (and I do), than an inexpensive assemble-it-yourself piece of temporary crap like we can all buy from the big box stores. <3 Amen to your little speech here, Nick. AMEN.

Glad to hear the story about your woodshop, and so nice to see Sarah's wonderful work. I'd also like to compliment you fur supporting women and paying a fair living wage with benefits.

I was wondering if the Offerman Woodshop is open to having an appointment to check out what you have going on there...

Thanks for the tour of your wood shop and the generosity of training of the homeless in LA. My wife and I moved to Castaic this year and the movers broke one of our dining room chair legs. I searched without success for someone to fix it. Glad to know there are places that we might check in with that you recommended. Love your work. Just finished The Resort. 👍

This was one of my questions and I appreciate the extensive, sincere and thoughtful effort that goes into your responses.

Donkey Thoughts really is what I'd hoped it would be.
