As far as I can tell, Mr. Swanson was using a Gerber Multi-plyer 400 to pull his tooth.

Thanks for the response! It was the highlight of my month having *THE* Nick Offerman say my name.

On a completely unrelated topic, I was browsing the woodshop website and came across the autographed books... Will the signed copies of The Greatest Love Story be available again in the near future? I never *ever* spend more than $10-$15 on a single book (and even then it has to be a really good one), but I could perhaps be persuaded to splurge a bit... If only it were available...

Dear Nick,

Thank you so very much for the answer to my inquiry about the Victorinox/Yosemite/PITH. Also, for the shout-out on your world famous blog. As a result of your post of my name in your blog and subsequent answer, to my question I am going to become a subscriber, as in $$. 😎🧓

Have you exhausted the supply of the personalized Tinker knives with the "PITH" personalization. Isf so..OK as I already have a copy of ALL, YES ALL, your books. Someday they will be handed down to my heirs and become "classics" or the New-age of reason and commentary.

If you do not have any more of the PITH Tinkers, I will order one from Victorinox Custom Shoppe.

Keep writing, acting, woodworking, and be of good cheer.

P.S., I am a native Illini aging man.

Your fan,

Michael Korak

Sadly, I recently had to surrender my 20-yr old Super Tinker to the TSA (my fault for forgetting it was in my pocket, grrrrr), and I sure wish that dope Yosemite-themed baby was available for purchase!! I was there in mid-May, what an amazing place! And we hiked Glacier (including Grinnell Glacier) last year, so the first section of Where the Deer and Antelope Play was such a nostalgia trip to read! Enjoy your work; would love to buy you some bourbon (or Lagavulin, whatever) if you're in KY visiting the Berry family sometime... 🥃

Happiness! On a lark, I Googled "Yosemite Super Tinker Knife", and I found it! Gonna order this baby. Thanks Nick!

Thank you Nick for nerding out with us on the EDC topic today! I always love when craftspeople shine a light on the tools they use to get things done. It always inspires me. Have a great weekend, wherever the road takes you.

For reasons that shall forever remain a mystery, the first thing that popped into my head was a question about whether that's the origin of the word 'pithy' and it turns out yes. Sort of?

1. (of language or style) concise and forcefully expressive.

2. (of a fruit or plant) containing much pith.

I guess that's appropriate.

I have always had a "something" in my pocket, usually a cheaper no-name piece from the Walmart camping section.

It wasn't until I moved to my adopted home town of Portland OR (in which both major companies are based in) that I discovered, no only is it a discussion topic, but somewhat of a rivalry. (and both of their tools are outstanding compared to the S@#$t I was caring before).
